Finding Peace on the Journey

As I watched the sunrise this morning, I couldn’t help but think about peace and just how still and quiet the morning felt.

Protecting my peace has become vital to my soul. We are all walking through life together, but our personal journeys don’t all look the same—we all pull over for different kinds of rest, healing, and fuel at different times.

My ultimate goal is simply to keep growing closer to the Lord and to encourage others along the way. Yet, I know how easy it is for me to lose sight of the beauty around me or react out of my own human hurt instead of resting in God’s peace.

I’ve had to learn that I can’t fix everything, and I certainly can’t heal anyone. But I can point my own heart—and, hopefully, encourage others—to the One who can.

The closer I grow to Jesus, the easier it becomes to let go. Do I live in perfect peace every single minute? Absolutely not. I mess up, I feel the friction of living in a broken world, and I need God’s grace every single day. But life is so much sweeter when I choose to rest in Him and look for Him in the everyday, ordinary moments.

Philippians 4:7 speaks of a peace that “transcends all understanding.”

It’s not something I have to manufacture on my own strength; it’s a gift that guards our hearts when we surrender the weight we were never meant to carry.

One day, because of what Jesus so graciously did for us, we will all know that peace fully. Until then, we’re all on the same team, walking each other home, held by a Savior who loves us every step of the way.

Praying extra peace over your heart today.
