Feelings of self-doubt often fill my heart and mind. I constantly question how much and how often I should share my thoughts.
The enemy whispers that I only share out of pride. Don’t get me wrong, I am proud of what I write, but I don’t do it alone. I write what He puts on my heart because I genuinely feel someone else out there is experiencing the exact same thing, and they need to hear it.
There have been so many times when I have allowed fear to overpower conviction and I chose to keep silent. But a friend recently hit me with a hard truth. They told me that if God convicts me to share something, and I choose to stay quiet out of fear, I’m not just being cautious—I’m being disobedient.
Honestly, I struggle every single day, just like so many of us do. I have my own demons to fight. But walking with God has opened my eyes, my heart, and my mind to the point that I see Him in everything when I simply take the time to BE STILL.
Many times, my stillness comes in the quiet of a sleepless night, or in the early morning hours before my family stirs from their slumber. It’s in those exact moments of quiet reflection that the words usually find me.
In fact, someone asked me the other day if I had always written. The short answer is yes, but it comes in spurts. Those spurts happen when I finally allow the Spirit to speak to me in the quiet—when I take the time to listen to Him instead of the negativity that tries so hard to captivate my mind.
While I do share quite a bit on social media, I don’t share everything. Some things are meant to stay strictly between me and God during those sacred hours.
I write all of this to say: if you are one of those people who wrestles with those same doubts about sharing what He has done for you, or how He speaks to you, please stop letting fear hold you back.
The time is drawing near when Jesus will return for His children. You never know who might be sitting on the fence right now, just waiting to hear exactly what you have to say. Don’t let your silence steal their opportunity to hear Him. Your voice matters, and time is too short to let your doubts win.
