As the mother of a soldier, I can’t imagine the pain of losing a loved one to war. To those who have, my heart goes out to you. I have many family members, past and present, who have served—some have seen combat and some have not. Still, their willingness to serve our country and protect the freedoms we enjoy is never forgotten.
