Life Cycles

It’s 4am and I finally gave up on sleep.
Once again, my mind races.

With age I’m noticing that I’m aware of more funerals than birthday parties. I hear of more serious health issues than colds and chicken pox.

Life cycles.
I am now closer to the end than the beginning. So many questions still unanswered but not indefinitely.

We begin our journey toward death the moment we take our first breath. It’s how it works down here. But thankfully, this is not our home.
We have an eternal home after this flash of life.
Where we spend eternity all depends on whether or not we know Christ.

I used to be one of those people who skipped over posts like this. As I reflect on that, it’s because I didn’t know and I didn’t understand.

Over the years I have had an unsteady relationship with Christ. I was 28 when I accepted Him. That was a long time ago. I was one who followed for a while and then got pulled back into the world. It was never intentional. It would start with skipping a service or two. Work got in the way. A sick child. The excuses were endless. Then life would happen and I’d come back.

I’d remember what it was like to walk with Him.
I’d remember what is was like to have peace.
I’d get tired of making all the same mistakes over and over and over again.
He never left me.

Life has not been easy. I know this is true for a lot of people. A lot of mine was my own poor choices which didn’t bode well. Too many stories for this but I have a few testimonies.

Some people say it was one event that lead them to this walk. Apparently I was hard headed and it took a few. Not everyone’s journey is the same. But while the roads we travel may be different, the same Hand is offered to us all.

This is not a nice world we’re living in and the time is drawing near.
All you have to do is watch and listen to what’s happening.
Open your Bible.
It’s being fulfilled.

If you don’t know Jesus or you’re not sure, let’s talk about it. You never know when your last breath will be.
Why not be sure?

Here’s the thing. If I’m wrong, and I don’t believe I am, what have you got to lose?
But if I’m right, I promise you that heaven will be where you’ll want to be versus the alternative.
Eternity is a LONG time. Why would you chance it?

It’s not hard.
And it’s the absolute best thing that could ever happen to you.
