A Typical Sunday

image

Up this morn,
The silence sweet,
Thinking of the day.

So much to do,
My coffee smooth,
Planning out the way.

Devotion first,
Then head to church ,
Handshakes and hugs abound.

The music great,
The message strong,
A baptism to be found.

Lunch is next,
With family to sup,
A run back home to change.

In the car,
Heading north,
To the nursing home again.

A smile they have,
As they wait,
This visit they enjoy.

The chats we have,
About the week,
These people the real McCoy.

Their stories many,
We learn so much,
About the days of old.

Much simpler times,
They reminisce,
These memories of gold.

Back home again,
The day complete,
Tomorrow begins anew.

A typical Sunday,
Much time well spent,
Now rest to help renew.
