With age comes gratitude.
I wake in the middle of the night
and thank Him for the rest.
I awake in the morning;
I thank Him for waking up.
I thank Him for spilled medication
because I put too many tablets in the cup.
I thank Him for the interruption
because the friend who needed an ear
had no idea she was encouraging me instead.
I thank Him for the walk with a neighbor,
because we are both still able.
I thank Him for those who hold a grievance against me,
for they keep my heart humble
and teach me to look to Him for wisdom.
I thank Him for the sleepless nights,
for in the quiet stillness,
the most heartfelt words are found.
So as I walk through the moments in my mind at 3am,
I am counting the blessings hidden in the ordinary,
thankful for a God who turns every piece of my day into grace. 🙌
