Perspective is a powerful thing. I was filling out the pre-registration paperwork for a cardiologist appointment tomorrow, clicking “no” down a long list of medical conditions and ailments, and it really made me pause and realize how truly blessed I am.

​Looking at that list, I couldn’t help but think of the people around me—friends, loved ones, and members of my church—who are carrying so many heavy health burdens right now, some of them even much younger than me.

​Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had my share of surgeries and major physical hurdles just like anyone else, and some might look at my path and say I’ve been through a lot. But looking back at those boxes today, I realized that every challenge I went through was necessary to shape me into the person I am today. I wouldn’t trade the lessons they taught me.

​Heading into my appointment tomorrow with a very focused, grateful heart. ❤️
