From “I Have To” to “I Get To”

“Ugh”

I woke up today and my mood matched my shirt. Some days are just an ‘ugh’ kind of day. It felt like I was starting behind, all because of a little extra sleep.

Sometimes it feels like a chaotic Saturday is just meant to distract us from a holy Sunday.

As I looked at an overwhelming to-do list—bills, errands, lesson prep, and getting Kevin ready to dog-sit for our oldest next week—I had to stop and catch my breath.

But then, I remembered the source of my strength. The enemy wants us to focus on the weight, but God reminds us of the grace.

Every single one of these stressors is actually a sign of abundance. These tasks are privileges, and a long list is just a reflection of the people and resources God has entrusted to my care.

His mercies aren’t just new every morning; they are actively meeting us right in the messy middle of a busy day.

‘The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘therefore I will hope in him.’ — Lamentations 3:22-24″
