Godliness with Contentment

I cannot count the number of times I’ve heard someone say that as they reflect on life, their happiest times were when they had nothing.

Many of us grew up with families when sometimes even food was scarce or there just didn’t seem to be enough to fill your belly. But we still ate.

We may have worn hand me downs, but we were still clothed.

We have so much to be thankful for in this life. Yes, we may have trials and we may not understand why, but they are part of growing and shaping who you are.

Speaking from my own past, as I reflect through the years and the consequences to my actions, there was always a Hand there to guide me through my mess. I didn’t recognize it at the time but I definitely see it looking back.

Yes, I know we’re supposed to look and move forward but sometimes looking back allows you to see how far you’ve come and how blessed you actually are. Personally,  I’ve still got a lot of learning to do and a long way to go … but I’m getting there.
