As she wakes in the night
Her heart pounding in her chest.
She knows it was just a dream,
yet she can’t lay back to rest.

The uneasiness she feels,
has her wide awake.
Checking on the house,
the fear she cannot shake.

She takes a look around,
Lights on both in and out.
Looking out the window,
nothing moves about.

She gets a glass of water,
and takes it back to bed.
Climbing under covers,
to lay her weary head.

Beginning to feel better,
the house safe and secure.
Another prayer is said,
to thank Him once more.

Beginning to feel sleepy,
the time is 3:16.
Reciting the verse in her head,
She closed her eyes to dream.
